The second Partita à violino solo senza basso BWV 1004, in which this Ciaccona is included, is one of most remarkable compositions for violin. Miguel Rincón presents us this rendition on his lute with an outstanding, clean, crisp and moving performance. It is interesting to see a lutenist's perspective on Bach's music in regards to tempo, phrasing and ornamentation.

Transcribing music has been tradition since very long time. Tárrega did it, Giuliani did, Sor did it, but we must thank to Andrés Segovia for the fact that we play this music nowadays. Segovia spent his life reviving the tradition and estimulated new composers as well. In the 50's Segovia presented Bach's music as repertoire for guitar, which was remarkable back in the days.
